This Ivan Reitman film charted to #1 on iTunes movies upon its On Demand release, and John’s score was “Editor’s Pick” in Film Music Magazine! Watch our interview with John (below), who talks about his scoring process on this inspirational film.

John Debney-Scored ‘Draft Day’ Hits No. 1 On iTunes, DVD Available September 2, And ‘Houdini’ Premieres Labor Day

Congratulations goes out to Academy Award-nominated Composer John Debney who scored Draft Day (rent it on iTunes), which hit #1 on the iTunes movies chart. Starring Kevin Costner and Jennifer Garner, the Ivan Reitman-directed movie will be available on DVD on September 2.

Two Must-Watch Movies Featuring ‘X-Men’ Stars Halle Berry & Hugh Jackman | Soundtracks Scored By Award Winning Composers

Before Halle Berry and Hugh Jackman played mutants in X-Men: Days of Future Past, they played ordinary citizens in extraordinary situations. Halle Berry stars as Jordan Turner in The Call, about a 911 operator who goes beyond the call to save a girl (Perfect Sisters‘ Abigail Breslin) who is abducted by a serial killer. Hugh Jackman plays Boyd Bolton, a used car salesman in Butter, a satire centered around the power struggle behind an annual butter carving competition in Iowa. The soundtracks for these two movie selections are solid picks: the Butter soundtrack is scored by Grammy-winning Composer Mateo Messina (Juno), and The Call soundtrack is scored by Academy Award-nominated Composer John Debney (Walk of Shame, Draft Day).
