Lakeshore Records Congratulates Our Partners on their Emmy Nods! Eight Shows Earn 22 Nominations!

The Emmy nominations were announced on July 14, and eight shows with Lakeshore Records releases were named on the list, three of those shows receiving best music nominations, for a total of 22 nominations in all!  Best music nominees are: Mr. Robot: Mac Quayle (Best Dramatic Score), Narcos: Rodrigo Amarante (Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music), and Bates Motel (Vinyl Release): Chris Bacon (Best Dramatic Score)!

Other shows include: Cartel Land (A&E), Confirmation (HBO), Grace And Frankie (Netflix), Hannibal (NBC), and Winter on Fire: Ukraine’s Fight For Freedom (Netflix).  See the expanded list below.

The 68th Emmy® Awards, including the star-studded Red Carpet preshow, will telecast from The Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, Sunday, September 18th (7:00-11:00 p.m. ET/4:00-8:00 p.m. PM PT) on ABC.

An Interview With John Bergin, ‘Mr. Robot’ Soundtrack Packaging Designer (Photos)

Mac Quayle’s score for the Peabody Award-winning Mr. Robot television series on USA Network is now available as a two-volume collectible CD set!  Listen to the series score in uncompressed audio, thoughtfully packaged in a jewel case within an O-card slipcase, complete with an eight-page booklet.

In collaboration with series creator Sam Esmail, the CD packaging was designed by Lakeshore Art Director John Bergin.  Extensive liner notes were provided by Sam Esmail and composer Mac Quayle.  Read our interview with John Bergin (below), who gives us an inside look at the creation of the CD and vinyl soundtrack collectibles!

Lakeshore Records has partnered with iam8bit to release the Swiss Army Man Collector’s Edition Vinyl!

A24, Lakeshore Records and iam8bit have rallied together to create one of the most unique vinyl albums in recent memory, as a compliment to one of Sundance 2016’s most breakout and gutsy films, Swiss Army Man.

Composed by Andy Hull and Robert McDowell, members of the prestigious Manchester Orchestra, the sounds present here aren’t what you’d expect. The duo has, in fact, shattered convention entirely, incorporating the melodic voices of stars Paul Dano and Daniel Radcliffe, into an almost completely A cappella experience.

Seriously, give it a listen via the Spotify Album below. It’s a wholly unique approach to a filmic score.

No ordinary package design would do for such a transcendent soundtrack, so we’ve got that covered, too!

We’re huge vinyl release fans and we know how important the format is to film music fans like us!
