Lakeshore Records Pick Of The Week: ‘Brick’ Soundtrack

Lakeshore Records has a tremendous catalog of soundtracks and artists albums, but have you heard them all? We dedicate this week to our first selection: Brick, scored by China Kent and Nathan Johnson. This film stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lukas Haas and Emilie de Ravin in a stylistic Noir thriller centered around a High School murder mystery (watch Brick on YouTube). Just listen to the dialogue!

Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays Brendan, an outcast who seeks to solve the mystery behind the murder of his ex-girlfriend, who left him cryptic clues before her demise. The soundtrack takes you through the decades via a retro track (thanks to Bunny Berigan), a track by The Velvet Underground, and classically high-pitched and leading instrumentals which only heighten any fears you may be accumulating during key moments of the film.

New Music Download: Pre-Order The ‘Walk Of Shame’ Soundtrack (Various Artists)

Out this week: Lakeshore Records is proud to release a new Walk of Shame movie soundtrack which features various artists throughout the album. This compilation of 13 tracks offers fun, upbeat music which is certain to make it on your go-to party playlist. The tone of the album echoes the wild and unexpected moments of the movie’s club scene and Meghan’s (played by Elizabeth Banks) hilarious adventures through the streets of Los Angeles. Walk of Shame (Various Artists) is available on April 29, but you can pre-order the album now.

The Walk of Shame Score album is also available now for download. Scored by Academy-Award nominated John Debney (also of the new Draft Day soundtrack), this album makes the perfect complement to the Walk of Shame Soundtrack.

Hello Kitty Makes Headlines: Avril Lavigne Releases New Video And Keke Palmer Gets TV Show!

That delightful Hello Kitty is making headlines! Lakeshore Records, noted for releasing the first official Sanrio-sanctioned Hello Kitty album, Hello Kitty – Hello World, features Keke Palmer (of Akeelah and the Bee fame), Cori Yarckin (see the video below) and others. Keke Palmer is making headlines with the announcement of her new daily talk show on BET, set to debut in July. At 20 years of age, Palmer is the youngest person in history to ever host a TV Show. Meanwhile, Avril Lavigne is making headlines for her new video titled, “Hello Kitty.” Hello World is an expertly-produced pop album which appeals to multiple generations of Hello Kitty fans, but you won’t need to be into Sanrio characters to appreciate the music.

Naughty Bunnies: Celebrate Easter With ‘Hank And Mike’

Why have the same old Easter gathering when you can throw in a bit of hijinks? For some good laughs, watch Hank and Mike (watch it on iTunes), starring Thomas Michael, Paolo Mancini, Joe Mantegna, Chris Klein (“Street Fighter – The Legend of Chun-Li“; “American Dreamz“) and Maggie Castle. This irreverent comedy promises to add the right amount of sweet and naughty to your day. Be warned: do not watch this while you’re eating or in the presence of sensitive ears (read: some naughty language). While the movie makes you laugh, the soundtrack makes for a fun listen between spiral ham and food coma.

Hank and Mike also stars Boyd Banks (“The Love Guru“; “How She Move“) and Tony Nappo (“Defendor“; “Jumper“). You’ll never look at men in bunny suits the same way ever again.

Lakeshore Records Gets Medieval For Game Of Thrones Fans

We get it, Game of Thrones fans. If it wasn’t for the struggle for the throne, the power-hungry opportunists, dragons and the White Walkers (who doesn’t love zombies, let alone ice zombies) to remind us that real life is actually quite grand by comparison, we’d be at a loss on Sunday nights. Lest we forget the damsels in continual distress, let us also not forget the occasional blood-letting and old-fashioned poisoning to fill our lusty goblets. Medieval fantasies and epic tales of alternative worlds really tickle our trebuchets, which is why we created our own version of a fantasy land featuring soundtracks from movies of a similar realm.
