The Stand Soundtrack: Series Score By Nathaniel Walcott & Mike Mogis Debuts!

The Stand - Nathaniel Walcott & Mike Mogis | Lakeshore Records

Lakeshore Records has released The Stand—Original Series Soundtrack with music by Nathaniel Walcott and Mike Mogis—both members of the band Bright Eyes. The score ranges from intimate acoustic guitar-based themes to menacingly droning cues that encompass the wide range of moods in the series based on the book by Stephen King. Walcott and Mogis also collaborated with Durand Jones (of Durand Jones and the Indications) to create a new version of the song “Baby, Can You Dig Your Man”, the hit single for the character Larry Underwood (Jovan Adepo).

The Stand is available to stream now on CBS All Access, with new episodes dropping weekly on Thursdays.

The Stand - Nathaniel Walcott & Mike Mogis | Lakeshore Records

The score crafted by Nathaniel Walcott and Mike Mogis (the musical duo known for Stuck in Love and The Fault in Our Stars) is just as epic as the grand story being told onscreen. – Josh Weiss, Forbes

Ahead of the soundtrack release of The Stand, composers Nathaniel Walcott and Mike Mogis have debuted two tracks from the album, “Stu Swears To Try” and “Queen Nadine.”  Lakeshore Records will release the soundtrack digitally on Friday, February 5, 2021 on all major music services.  Listen to the tracks below and read the full story originally published at Forbes.

“Working on a score for a show of the magnitude and scope ofThe Stand was a daunting but exciting process, made all the more surreal by watching the events of 2020 unfold, as we holed up scoring a show about a pandemic during a pandemic.”

“The Stand” is the CBS All Access Series based on the classic Stephen King book, starring James Marsden and Amber Heard.  Have you been watching “The Stand” on CBS All Access?

A Million Stars

If I am you, and you are me
Then I know the world will see
that I was weak
but now I’m strong
This will be a different song

So here I am
The better man
not the one you thought I am
and here we are, not the same
’cause tonight I win this game

So hold me tight
’cause a million stars could die tonight
and when they’re gone
there’ll be nothing for you to wish upon
a million stars depend on us tonight

I count on you
You count on me
Just this one please let it be.
And catch me if I’m falling down
One last chance to wear this crown

There’s nothing left for me to say
Dreams come true if we pray
I’m reaching for the milky way
A superstar is born today

So hold me tight
’cause a million stars could die tonight
and when they’re gone
There’ll be nothing for you to wish upon
A million stars depend on us tonight.
