Nightcrawler centers around Lou Bloom (Jake Gyllenhaal), a driven young man who is basically scraping by in Los Angeles.  One night, he witnesses crime journalist Joe Loder (Bill Paxton) in action and decides to muscle in on this new career prospect.  Things start to take off and get out of control after he meets news veteran, Nina Romina (Rene Russo), who enables him to pursue this new-found career, blurring the lines between observer and participant.

Composer Christopher Young’s ‘The Exorcism Of Emily Rose’ Is One Of The Scariest Film Scores Of All Time | Badass Digest

Award-winning composer Christopher Young (Drag Me To HellThe Gift) is a film music veteran who has scored some of the most horrifying films in the last two decades.  In a recent article, film music reviewer, Scorekeeper, sings his praises at Badass Digest and selects The Exorcism of Emily Rose (released by Lakeshore Records) as one of the scariest film scores of all time.

If music is not triggering our imagination, it’s not living up to its fullest potential.

This is one particular attribute in which Christopher Young excels. He’s demonstrated this power throughout his entire career, composing tremendously tormenting scores for films like Hellraiser (1987), The Fly II (1989), The Grudge (2004), The Uninvited (2009) and Sinister (2012). However, in my book, nothing compares to the paralyzing nightmare of Young’s The Exorcism of Emily Rose. It’s certainly one of the more cacophonic scores ever written; however, the chaos is completely controlled by the composer. Young traverses the narrative of the film utilizing a precise balance of extreme dynamics and aural intensity in order to bring out the scarier elements of the visuals.

At The Devil’s Door Soundtrack Feat. Music By Composer Ronen Landa Available Now

At the devil’s door” is like a visit in a tight and dark tunnel which has lots of twists and turns. You never know what to expect. A few cues are constructed in a stop and go manner, they don’t flow naturally. The effect is very good. I love a score that surprises me, and I got a few of surprises listening to this one. –SoundtrackDreams.com

Lakeshore Records is pleased to release At The Devil’s Door Music By Ronen Landa.  Composer Ronen Landa previously collaborated with the film’s director, Nicholas McCarthy on The Pact.  “The score for At The Devil’s Door was blessed with the talents of musicians who worked with me to explore the darkest corners of their instruments,” described Landa.  “I manipulated those recordings in the studio to craft unworldly sounds that became the foundation for the experience.  I found inspiration for our demonic themes in the ancient music and languages of the Silk Road region, and more restrained melodic gestures provide the dramatic counterpoint.”
