A MERRY FRIGGIN’ CHRISTMAS is directed by Tristram Shapeero and stars Robin Williams, Joel McHale, Lauren Graham, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Clark Duke, Candice Bergen and Oliver Platt. Boyd and his family are forced to spend a dreaded Christmas at his parents’ house with his eccentric father that he has been avoiding for years. When he realizes that he left his son’s gifts at home, Boyd and his father must hit the road in a blizzard to retrieve the gifts before sunrise to save Christmas.

His first feature film, “Rudderless”, is a poignant story that explores finding happiness in the midst of loss and pain. And you know what? It’s really damn good. –The Playlist

The highly anticipated soundtrack to Rudderless is available tomorrow on iTunes. In William H. Macy’s directorial debut, Billy Crudup plays Sam, a former high-profile advertising executive whose life is torn apart by the sudden death of his son. Living off the grid on a docked sailboat, he wastes away his days while drowning his pain in alcohol. When Sam discovers a box filled with his son’s demo tapes and lyrics, his own child’s musical talent is a revelation for him, a grieving father yearning to reconnect with his son. He begins to explore his son’s unknown talent, obsessively learning his songs, until one day he decides to play one of them at a local bar. The song captivates Quentin, a young musician (Anton Yelchin) in the audience, and the two unlikely friends decide to form a rock ‘n’ roll band called Rudderless that becomes surprisingly popular and revitalizes both of their lives.

In an interview for The Huffington Post, William H. Macy talks about one of the most important things he did in preparation for his directorial debut in Rudderless:

The music was the other big great white shark that I was afraid of. I looked at a lot of films that have music in them and I faulted many of them because they were lovely films but the music wasn’t great. It wasn’t scintillating. It wasn’t as good as the film. ‘Over Your Shoulder’ Ft. Billy Crudup, Anton Yelchin & Ben Kweller From Rudderless Soundtrack Premieres On Entertainment Weekly!

“Over Your Shoulder” is the only song that isn’t theirs—Macy heard the track, by English songwriter Fink, and fell in love. Crudup and Yelchin sing lead vocals on the song, which also features musician Ben Kweller, who made his acting debut in Rudderless. “That’s I think my favorite song in the film,” Kweller tells EW. “It’s just such an emotional tune, it really says a lot.”
