On Sunday night, Leonardo DiCaprio won his first Best Actor Academy Award® for his role in The Revenant. His Oscar® acceptance speech echoes the sentiments of his documentary, The 11th Hour. “Climate change is real, it is happening right now, it is the most urgent threat facing our entire species, and we need to work collectively together and stop procrastinating.”

DiCaprio, one of the most outspoken celebrities on the issue of climate change, framed the topic in unsparing terms. “To be clear, this is not about just telling people to change their light bulbs or to buy a hybrid car; this disaster has grown beyond the choices that individuals make. Matthew Lillard (“Luke”) and Jessica Paré (“Rebecca”) round out the cast. Composer Cliff Martinez’s score paints a canvas of nostalgia, heartbreak and determination to guide viewers along as the mystery unfolds through many separated puzzle pieces.
