Throwback Thursday: Adam Wingard’s ‘Blair Witch’ Score In Review | Musique Machine

An experience enjoyable without the visuals… Black Hills Forest, and Rustin Parr, establish several of the key features of the album… listening at a louder volume reveals new worlds. – Musique Machine

To truly appreciate Adam Wingard’s score to last year’s Blair Witch movie, the direct sequel to the cult phenomenon The Blair Witch Project, this soundtrack review at Musique Machine is essential reading. Mastered by Robert Rich, a pioneering ambient musician, the album is described as “surprisingly detailed” without being intrusive.  It is certainly a rich review of the soundtrack.  Read the full review at Musique Machine.

Lakeshore To Give Birth To The ‘Prevenge’ Soundtrack (US Release): Electronic Score by Toydrum Available March 3

PREVENGE benefits from a ’70s-throwback synth score by Toydrum (Pablo Clements and James Griffith) that evokes vintage Argento at his most lurid.” – Hollywood Reporter

“Our heroine’s raddled state, meanwhile, is aptly reflected in the deliberately unpolished nature of the filmmaking — of which with the icy, stabbing synths of Toydrum’s excellent score are the most expressive asset.” – Variety

Alice Lowe’s horror film, Prevenge is out now in the U.K., but in preparation for its U.S. arrival, Lakeshore Records will release the soundtrack featuring a synth-heavy score by Toydrum (Pablo Clements and James Griffith).  Preview tracks from the album at Fact Magazine.  You can grab the UK release now via Invada Records.

EXCLUSIVE! Listen To Carpenter Brut’s Debut Single For ‘The Rise of The Synths’ Companion Album | Vehlinggo

The cut clearly reflects Carpenter Brut’s deft approach to synthwave — darksynth bathed in the melodic predilections of Tangerine Dream, Dario Argento, and the man for which the Carpenter Brut project derives its name; and scrubbed raw with the essence of SebastiAn. – Vehlinggo
