Yahoo! Movies premiered the new Song One movie trailer, featuring co-stars Anne Hathaway and Johnny Flynn. Lakeshore Records will release the soundtrack, coming soon.
A tragic event brings unexpected romance into Anne Hathaway’s life in Song One, the feature-film debut of writer-director Kate Barker-Froyland. Here’s the first trailer for the indie drama, which stars Hathaway as Franny, an anthropologist who flies home from Morocco when she learns that her musician brother is in a coma. In between hospital visits, Franny sets out to explore her brother’s favorite New York City haunts, including a concert hall where his idol, singer-songwriter James Forrester (Johnny Flynn), is playing.
Apart from singing traditional songs and learning Bob Dylan songs or whatever, I don’t usually sing other people’s music. But it was cool because the songs were an extension of the script, as far as the clues to who the character is. I had occasional suggestions, and they were very cool about humoring me with my ideas. Entertainment Weekly has debuted the new movie poster.
