Yahoo! Movies premiered the new Song One movie trailer, featuring co-stars Anne Hathaway and Johnny Flynn. Lakeshore Records will release the soundtrack, coming soon.
A tragic event brings unexpected romance into Anne Hathaway’s life in Song One, the feature-film debut of writer-director Kate Barker-Froyland. Here’s the first trailer for the indie drama, which stars Hathaway as Franny, an anthropologist who flies home from Morocco when she learns that her musician brother is in a coma. In between hospital visits, Franny sets out to explore her brother’s favorite New York City haunts, including a concert hall where his idol, singer-songwriter James Forrester (Johnny Flynn), is playing.
Apart from singing traditional songs and learning Bob Dylan songs or whatever, I don’t usually sing other people’s music. But it was cool because the songs were an extension of the script, as far as the clues to who the character is. I had occasional suggestions, and they were very cool about humoring me with my ideas. Entertainment Weekly has debuted the new movie poster. Lakeshore Records will release the soundtrack featuring new music featured in the film as well as songs from other bands from the film (read our previous announcement).
