Colette: The Score To Indie Spirit Award Nominated Film Is Coming Soon

Colette dazzles the senses! – Rolling Stone

Lakeshore Records will release the soundtrack to Colette, the Indie Spirit Award Best Screenplay-nominated film directed by Wash Westmoreland (Still Alice, The Last of Robin Hood)!  The album features score by Thomas Adès (performer: “Mozart In The Jungle“, composer: New World Symphony WALLCAST Concert).  Adès’ score won Best Original Score – Independent Film at this year’s Hollywood Music In Media Awards (HMMA)!  

A New York Times Critic’s Pick film, Colette just received four British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) nominations including Best Supporting Actress, and earlier this year received the People’s Choice Award at TIFF.  Stay tuned for more soundtrack details!

Laggies Composer Ben Gibbard Talks Film Scoring (LA Times), Watch Now On VOD, Blu-ray/DVD Available On February 10

Gibbard has also released a solo album “Former Lives,” saw his electro-pop project the Postal Service return for a one-off tour, and contributed score work for the feature film “Laggies” and the documentary “Kurt Cobain: About A Son.   Read the full story at LA Times.

 

The very busy Laggies Composer Ben Gibbard talks to the LA Times about what he’s been up to, including the exciting release of his new Death Cab for Cutie album.  And now, Laggies the film is available on digital download and rental on iTunes (watch Laggies here).  Fans have described this film as the “best girl-buddy rom-com” since Bridesmaids. Ben Gibbard: ‘Laggies’ Composer Talks About Singing In ‘Subterranean’, Foo Fighters ‘Sonic Highways’ Documentary +More | Rolling Stone

If the Foo Fighters want you to show up somewhere, you just do it,” Ben Gibbard tells Rolling Stone. So when Dave Grohl reached out to the Death Cab For Cutie frontman to ask if he’d participate in the Foos’ HBO documentary series Sonic Highways, Gibbard didn’t hesitate.

Laggies composer Benjamin Gibbard is no stranger to contributing to films.  Before scoring on Laggies — the new coming of age comedy starring Keira Knightley, Chloë Grace Moretz and Sam Rockwell — Benjamin Gibbard scored the Kurt Cobain documentary (with Steve Fisk), Kurt Cobain About A Son (2006).  Directed by Lynn Shelton, Laggies the film is out now nationwide (check show times).
