Lakeshore Records has released Chemical Hearts – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, featuring score by  Stephen James Taylor (Maya Angelou—And Still I Rise).  The score is quietly hypnotic providing a subtly atmospheric backdrop to the emotional teen drama.  The Amazon Original written and directed by Richard Tanne (Southside With You) and starring Lili Reinhart, Austin Abrams, Sarah Jones, Adhir Kalyan, Kara Young, and Coral Peña streams globally on Prime Video beginning today.

This week’s Free Music Fridays features two EMMY®-contenders!  Amanda Jones joins the ranks of EMMY® nominees this year for her compositions on Apple TV+’s “Home Season 1: Episode V, Maine!”  Her Prime Time EMMY® nomination for Outstanding Composition is getting a lot of attention.  Check out her interview with KABC in which she talks about being the first Black female composer nominated for a Primetime EMMY®!

For the News & Documentary EMMY®, Kathryn Bostic received an Outstanding Music Composition nomination for her score to Toni: Morrison: The Pieces I Am,  which premiered this past June on American Masters (PBS).  Her song, “High Above The Water” from the soundtrack was Oscars shortlisted.  Watch the music video below.

Lansdale (Bubba Ho-Tep), The Pale Door movie reunites Scare Package director-composer collaborators Aaron B. Koontz and Alex Cuervo.

After a train robbery goes bad, two brothers leading a gang of cowboys must survive the night in a ghost town inhabited by a coven of witches. Directed by Aaron B. Koontz, the RLJE Films and Shudder release will be available on Digital and VOD on August 21 along with a limited theatrical release.
