Oscars 2024: Ben Proudfoot and Kris Bowers’ ‘The Last Repair Shop’ Secures A Nomination!

Major congratulations to Ben Proudfoot and Kris Bowers on their Academy Award Best Documentary Short Film nomination for The Last Repair Shop!  Premiering last year at the Telluride Film Festival, the film would eventually go on to earn a Critic’s Choice Documentary Awards win, an HMMA Awards Best Score nomination (by Katya Richardson & Kris Bowers), a Black Reel Awards Outstanding Short Film nomination, and an Astra Award Best Short Film nomination!  This is Proudfoot and Bowers’ second Academy Award-nominated collaboration since 2020’s A Concerto Is A Conversation.

Congratulations to all the nominees this year!  The 96th Academy Awards ceremony will take place March 10, 2024 at the Dolby® Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will be televised live on ABC.  View the full list at The New York Times.

Allyson Newman Releases ‘Commitment To Life’ Soundtrack, Stream The Documentary on Peacock

Watch the trailer for Ava DuVernay’s highly-anticipated film, Origin, Inspired by the New York Times best seller Caste: The Origins Of Our Discontents.  The Oscar® contender film stars Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor (King Richard), Jon Bernthal (The Many Saints of Newark), Vera Farmiga (“When They See Us”), Audra McDonald (“The Good Fight”), Niecy Nash-Betts (“Monster: The Jeffrey Dalmer Story”), Nick Offerman (“The Last of Us“), and Blair Underwood (“American Crime Story”).

The film made its world premiere at Venice International Film Festival, earning a Best Film Golden Lion award nomination for Ava DuVernay at the festival.  And, it was recently announced that the film’s Aunjenue Ellis-Taylor received an Outstanding Lead Performance nomination at the Gotham Awards!
