Here at SHOCK, we’re big fans of composer Bear McCreary; not just for his work on AMC’s THE WALKING DEAD but for his music in a myriad motion pictures… His compositions in director William Brent Bell’s haunted doll movie THE BOY… is no exception. – Shock Till You Drop

In celebration of the Blu-ray/DVD release on Tuesday, May 10 (buy here), we’re giving away a signed soundtrack CD to five random people who are subscribers to our blog and comment on this post before midnight (pacific standard time) on Sunday, May 15th. Rules below!

The CD is signed by the film’s composer, Bear McCreary, and songwriter/producer Brendan McCreary, who contributes the song, “In My Dream (feat. Fyfe Monroe)”!

‘The Canal’ Starring Rupert Evans (The Boy) Among 10 Horror Films Worth Watching On Netflix! | Nothing Uncut

The Canal, starring Rupert Evans (The Boy, The Man In The High Castle, Hellboy) has been named “Among 10 Horror Films Worth Watching On Netflix” by Nothing Uncut.  Written and directed by Ivan Kavanagh, The Canal movie is described as a “polished indie psycho-thriller full of macabre twists and nerve-snapping tension” by Stephen Dalton of the Hollywood Reporter.  With the score by Ceiri Torjussen (Test, Underworld: Evolution, Hellboy) released by Lakeshore Records, THE CANAL makes for a great scary movie night feature film!

The Orchard presents THE CANAL, now streaming on Netflix.

Horror fans are buzzing about The Boy movie, which made its theatrical debut last weekend!  If you’ve seen the movie, then you’ll appreciate the haunting piano theme and cues like “Meeting Brahms”’ and “The Crying Doll” “very sophisticated sounding, very classy…” (Soundtrack Geek) are a must-listen.  The Boy (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is out now digitally on iTunes, but you can also own your CD copy of the Bear McCreary score when it becomes available on February 19.  Read further for more soundtrack details.

Lakeshore Records is very pleased to release The Boy (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) — available now!  The CD will follow on February 19.  The Boy movie stars Lauren Cohan (AMC’s “The Walking Dead”) and Rupert Evans (Amazon’s “The Man In The High Castle”, The Canal).  The album features original score by Bear McCreary (Starz’s “Outlander”, The Forest, AMC’s “The Walking Dead”, ABC’S “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”), and the song, “In My Dream” by Brendan McCreary (Syfy’s “Defiance”) and performed by Fyfe Monroe.  Read further for more soundtrack details.
