Halloween Month: Winchester – The Most Haunted House In The World

They say legends and ghost stories are often based on some truth, and the Winchester house is no different. Inspired by actual events, the incredible story of “the most haunted house in the world” takes place at the Winchester mansion, located 50 miles outside of San Francisco.  Once owned by Sarah Winchester, the widow of firearms magnate William Wirt Winchester,  the 24,000-square-foot Winchester mansion was brought to life in the 2018 film by the Spierig brothers: Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig (Jigsaw, Daybreakers).  Peter Spierig also composes the score to the film.  Keep reading to listen to the soundtrack and learn more about the movie now streaming on Netflix.

Endeavor Content and Lakeshore Records have released Truth Be Told: Season 2 (Apple TV+ Original Series Soundtrack)! Series composer John Paesano (“Penny Dreadful”) returns for another season.  View the album tracklist and preview the album below for a taste of the series score.
 

Starring and executive produced by Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer, the new season of the anthology drama also stars Academy Award nominee Kate Hudson in her first lead role in a television series. The series, which provides a glimpse into America’s obsession with true crime podcasts, debuted August 20, 2021 with the first episode, followed by new episodes weekly every Friday.

Halloween Month: Spooky and Haunted Houses Week – Castle Freak

We kick off spooky and haunted houses week with the 2020 remake of Castle Freak, starring Clair Catherine, Kika Magalhães and Jake Horowitz.  If you haven’t seen the original 1995 film starring Barbara Crampton, who is now an executive producer on this film, there will be no spoilers here.  H.P. Lovecraft is credited as one of the writers as the film is loosely adapted from his stories, “The Outsider” and “The Dunwich Horror“.  Also produced by the iconic Fangoria magazine and media brand, creepy and twisted film aficionados can tune into Castle Freak on Shudder.  

Legendary horror composer Fabio Frizzi lends his distinctive touch to the film’s score, which you can now stream on all major digital music services worldwide.

Academy Award winner Hildur Guðnadóttir, Academy Award nominee Nicholas Britell, and Academy Award Nominee Kris Bowers headline LA Phil’s upcoming series, Reel Change: The New Era of Film Music

This exciting new program celebrates the evolution of modern film music with performances by Hildur Guðnadóttir, whose live performance will include music from her recent release Battlefield 2042  (Lakeshore Records) on November 19; Kris Bowers (November 20); and Nicholas Britell (November 21).  Get your tickets and more details at LA Phil online.
