Composer Theodore Shapiro chats with Film.Music.Media on reteaming with Ben Stiller for Apple TV+’s EMMY®-nominated hit series, “Severance”–they previously collaborated on Zoolander 2, Blades of Glory, Tropic Thunder and more. Theodore just earned two EMMY®-nominations for his work on “Severance”: Outstanding Music Composition for a Series and Outstanding Main Title Theme Music for a Series. For lucky Severance fans who are at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) this weekend, they got to experience the show at the Severance Activation held at Hard Rock Hotel first hand. Not everyone can be there, so we’ve collated some of our favorite coverage of the coveted event. Set up like an employee orientation, attendees got the fully-immersive Severance experience on the Severed Floor with the exception of actually getting your memories Severed. This year’s EMMY® nominations are in! Composers Theodore Shapiro (“Severance“) and Nainita Desai (14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible) secured music nominations! Nora Felder nabbed the Best Music Supervision nom for “Stranger Things” Season 4, Vol. 1. The Television Academy reported there was a sharp increase in EMMY® submissions this year in the drama and supporting categories, so we suspect the competition was fierce!
