EXCLUSIVE! Listen To A Score Track By Stephen Trask For Indie Film ‘I’ll Be There’
Lakeshore Records is set to release I’ll Be There—Original Motion Picture Soundtrack digitally on Friday, November 15 featuring music by musician and composer Stephen Trask (Hedwig and the Angry Inch). We’re thrilled to share the exclusive premiere of “Scalper” from the film’s score! I’ll Be There directed by Andrew Shea and written by Cindy McCreary is available digitally now. Trask notes:
“I’ve been working a lot with what I call acoustic electronica, combining analog synthesis with pianos and guitars in ways that have the tonal character of ambient electronic but allow for expression of emotion and a range of human feelings. When I met Andrew Shea, the director and started playing cues for him it was immediately a perfect match. He was looking to underline the emotional underpinnings of the lives of these characters but not amplify them with big bold letters. I feel like the process allowed for an exploration of textures snd timbres while also allowing the score to build and earn the emotional peak it reaches at the end. I worked a number of days in my studio with guitarist Tim Mislock, who is a brilliant experimental, ambient artist. Working with Tim was a blast and our approaches blended beautifully. He plays some great acoustic parts as well.”
Written by Cindy McCreery and directed by Andrew Shea, “I’LL BE THERE” tells the story of Grace (Jasmine Batchelor), the youngest of five in a blended family, who has distanced herself from her complex family dynamics. However, when her older brother AJ (Ryan Cooper) is diagnosed with cancer, Grace finds herself back in Los Angeles, facing the ghosts of her past. As the family gathers during the days following Michael Jackson’s death, Grace must navigate her complicated relationships and find healing amidst the pain.
Acquired and distributed by Buffalo 8, I’LL BE THERE is available on demand on Amazon, Apple TV, Google Play and more on November 15.
