ABOUT TOM HOWE
Award-winning composer Tom Howe has scored over 100 films and television series. From sweeping orchestral scores and imaginative sonic landscapes to iconic main title themes and hit songs, his versatility as a multi-instrumentalist—combined with his expertise in pop, rock, and electronic sound design—has made him one of today’s most in-demand composers.
A two-time Emmy nominee, Howe has received seven Hollywood Music in Media Award nominations, winning two. His work has also earned him nominations for the World Soundtrack Awards, Music + Sound Awards, Annie Awards, the Jerry Goldsmith Award and multiple BMI awards.
As the composer of Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso and Shrinking, Howe’s main title themes have become cultural touchstones, and his scores and songs have garnered industry acclaim. For Ted Lasso, he received an Emmy nomination for the theme (co-written with Marcus Mumford), as well as an Emmy nomination and a Hollywood Music in Media Award for Sam Ryder’s song “Fought & Lost” (co-written with Jamie Hartman and Ryder).
Recent projects include Shrinking (Season 3), the MGM+ series American Classic, Universal Pictures’ Reminders of Him, DreamWorks Animation’s Dog Man, Disney+’s Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires, and Focus Features’ Polite Society. Upcoming projects include Ted Lasso (Season 4), Amazon Prime’s series Every Year After and the Legally Blonde prequel series, Elle, and Disney’s Zombies 5.
Howe’s feature film credits include 20th Century Fox’s Exodus: Gods and Kings; Warner Bros. Pictures’ Wonder Woman and The Legend of Tarzan; Aardman Animations’ Early Man and A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon; Focus Features’ Book Club: The Next Chapter; and Annapurna/Sony Pictures’ Professor Marston and the Wonder Women. His TV credits also include Amazon Prime’s Daisy Jones and the Six, and Doozer and Warner Bros. Television’s Whiskey Cavalier (co-composed with Harry Gregson-Williams). Howe’s non-fiction TV credits include the BBC’s The Great British Baking Show, as well as the BBC’s Sir David Attenborough series The Mating Game and Parenthood.
In addition to his work for film and TV, Howe is a successful songwriter with multiple chart hits, including Sam Ryder’s No. 2 single “Your Christmas To Me,” which received a BRIT Award nomination for Song of the Year.
