Swan Song: Join Composer Jay Wadley For The SCL Screening and Live Stream Q&A!

Join Composer Jay Wadley (I’m Thinking of Endings Things, “Tales of the City”, Adam) and The Society of Composers & Lyricists (The SCL) for the screening and live stream Q&A session for his score to Swan Song, the forth-coming highly-anticipated Apple Original Film starring two-time Academy Award® Winner Mahershala Ali (Moonlight, Green Book), Academy Award® Nominee Naomie Harris (Moonlight), and eight-time Academy Award® Nominee Glenn Close (Hillbilly Elegy, Dangerous Liaisons, Fatal Attraction). 

Moderated by Jon Burlingame (Variety), the screening will take place on Monday, December 13 (1 PM PST), followed by a YouTube Live Stream Q&A.  The screening link is available upon registration.  Register at The SCL online.

Throwback Thursday: Barry Jenkins’ Best Picture Academy Award Winner, ‘Moonlight’

In celebration of the theatrical premiere of If Beale Street Could Talk (Annapurna Pictures) this week, we take a look back at Moonlight, Composer Nicholas Britell and Director Barry Jenkins’ previous collaboration — last year’s Best Picture Academy Award®-winning film!  This collaboration earned three Oscars®: Best Picture, Best Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor!  Nicholas also earned an Academy Award® Best Score nomination for Moonlight.  

Moonlight’s Academy Award® Nominees James Laxton (Best Cinematography) and Joi Mcmillon (Best Editing) also team up once again with Jenkins on If Beale Street Could Talk.  With the buzz of critical acclaim for the forthcoming Beale Street theatrical opening on Friday, this is the perfect time to be reminded of the magic created once before with this winning team!

Moonlight: The Best Picture Academy Award® Film Makes Its Exclusive US Streaming Debut on Amazon Prime Video Sunday May 21!

Barry Jenkins’ Best Picture Academy Award® Winner, Moonlight, has certainly been the film of the year, and the film wouldn’t be the same without Nicholas Britell’s incredible score!  Nicholas worked closely with the director to make the score an integral part of the movie, effectively becoming a character of its own.  This weekend, U.S. movie fans will get to put the film on repeat when the history-making film makes its exclusive U.S. streaming premiere on Amazon Prime Video this Sunday, May 21 (Variety)!  If you don’t have Amazon Prime, signup for the free 30-day trial here.
