‘Underworld’ Vinyl: Coming To Record Store Day from Lakeshore Records and Phineas Atwood!

For the first time ever, the incredible soundtrack to the first installment of the worldwide phenomenon vampire versus werewolves franchise Underworld, is coming to vinyl!

Underworld stars Kate Beckinsale as Selene a Vampire “death dealer” hell bent on seeking revenge for the death of her family.

The film and its subsequent sequels (Underworld: Evolution, Underworld: Rise Of The Lycans & Underworld: Awakening) have grossed hundreds of millions of dollars at the box office worldwide and January 6th, 2017 sees the return of Selene in Underworld: Blood Wars.

Upon its original release the soundtrack received high praise from both fans and critics alike, with many citing the tracks by David Bowie, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer & Skinny Puppy as the perfect musical accompaniment for the images on screen.

The album produced by Danny Lohner (FMR Nine Inch Nails) includes exclusive tracks at the time of release from David Bowie (feat. Maynard James Keenan (Toold) & John Frusciante (Red Hot Chilli Peppers), A Perfect Circle, Page Hamilton (Helmet), Renholder (Danny Lohner) & Amy Lee (Evanescence) as well as the track “Awakening” by rock supergroup -The Damning Well (Wes Borland (Limp Bizkit), Richard Patrick (Filter), Josh Freese (The Vandals, A Perfect Circle) and album producer Danny Lohner.

The jarring, disturbing, edgy and yet wonderfully melodic score for Fede Alvarez‘ Don’t Breathe by Roque Baños makes its vinyl debut through our partners Invada this November.

The score, for which Baños helped create his own sounds using various household objects alongside traditional instruments delivers a unique listening experience that coupled with the films images deliver a tense viewing. As a stand alone listen though, this could easily be one of the most unnerving audio experiences I’ve ever had, and I am all for it.

Stranger Things Vol 1 Vinyl Details Announced!

st_fmdLakeshore Records will press and release Stranger Things (A Netflix Original Series) Vol 1 Soundtrack by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein on Vinyl for a release date of Friday October 28th in North America just in time for Halloween Weekend.

The release will be a double disc gatefold package with a printed insert featuring album credits and additional art.

Lakeshore Records has partnered with UK’s Invada Records founded by Geoff Barrow to press and release Stranger Things (A Netflix Original Series) Vol 1 Soundtrack by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein on Vinyl for a release date of Friday October 28th for the UK, and the just in time for Halloween Weekend.

The release will be a double disc gatefold package with a printed insert featuring album credits and additional art. Additional territories will be released on November 11th.

The North American Editions of the Stranger Things V1 vinyl will be as follows:

V1 Standard Edition (Black Vinyl) : Available 10/28

Stranger Things Synth Score Soundtrack Tops Charts Without Pop Songs! [UPDATED 8.19.16]

The Stranger Things Soundtrack by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein has become both a critical and cultural phenomena topping iTunes charts in its first day of release.

The electronic instrumental Synth-Score features not a single pop song to give the album a lift on the charts.  When is the last time that happened?

Within its first day of release the album has hit the Top 10 on four of the leading charts in two countries!  Congrats to Kyle, Michael, the entire Stranger Things team and everyone at Netflix!
