This week, we take a look back at some space-themed soundtracks such as 400 Days (score by Wojciech Golczewski), The Expanse (score by Clinton Shorter), Debug (score by Timothy Williams) and Journey To Space (score by Cody Westheimer)! Keep reading for listen/streaming links and where to watch these worthy productions!
Wojciech Golczewski’s score to sci-fi/fantasy film, 400 Days, will see a cassette release from our friends and partners at Spun Out Of Control — out Saturday, June 10! This limited edition release will go on pre-order via Spun Out Of Control’s Bandcamp page on Wednesday, June 7 at 6 p.m. UK time.
Better hustle on this one: a few retailers — Two Headed Dog (U.S.); and Transmission and Norman Records (both UK) are close to selling out their own pre-orders! We have some exclusive images provided to us by Spun Out Of Control. See all details below.
125 copies of the “Stars & Stripes” (red, blue and silver) glitter available
100 copies of the white shell with silver spaceman imprint.
Lakeshore Records previously release 400 Days (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) digitally (get it here). The score by Wojciech Golczewski (Dark Souls, We Are Still Here) is a satisfying synth score that’ll take you on a mental trip through space. “I loved that score and the way the musical odyssey mirrored the vastness of the space adventures.” (Soundtrack Dreams)
Syfy Films present 400 DAYS, currently available on VOD (rent it here) and Blu-ray/DVD (get it here).
Following on from the digital release of Wojciech Golczewski’sEnd of Transmission, Lakeshore Records and Data Airlines are releasing the 7 song electronic masterpiece on limited edition 12″ and cassette.
End Of Transmission is a spin-off project from Golczewski’s Reality Check trilogy, one that involves Golczewski being alone in the studio with a vintage miniMoog, trying to paint a sound scape to the otherwise complete silence of space travel.
The minimalist direction of End of Transmission marries the simplistic approach of storytelling through the art of sound. Golczewski’s imagined soundtrack for the long journey into space, uses a blend of electronic and symphonic sensibilities, all the while retaining the replay factor. I must have listened to the album 3 times in a row before I even realised!
Some of you may be familiar with Golczewski’s score for the film 400_Days, released by Lakeshore Records in 2015. If you haven’t had a chance to hear the score yet, I urge you to do so as soon as possible!
End Of Transmission is already being hailed as one of the synth/electronica releases of the year and trust me when I say, this is one you won’t want to miss.
