EXCLUSIVE! Listen to ‘Holy Night’ By Waje & 121Selah From ‘Christmas In Lagos’!
Get an early Christmas treat with an exclusive first listen to “Holy Night,” performed by Nigerian music artist Waje and the group, 121Selah, featured in the forthcoming Christmas In Lagos–Original Motion Picture Soundtrack releasing globally on Friday, December 20, 2024 on Lakeshore Records! Says of the choir:
“When the opportunity to reimagine the classic carol ‘Oh Holy Night’ for the Amazon Original Movie ‘Christmas in Lagos’ came our way, it felt like the perfect canvas to blend timeless tradition with the vibrant, soulful essence of Africa.
The producers were looking for something extraordinary—classic yet fresh, reverent yet infused with a contemporary Afro-pop sound that resonates with today’s audiences. The moment Cobhams walked into the studio and we played the track, it felt like the stars had aligned. We were all on the same page. From the melodies to the harmony arrangements, everything came together perfectly.
We’re beyond grateful for the chance to add our unique choral magic to this iconic carol, and working alongside the incredible Waje and under the vocal direction of our incredible vocal and creative director PD Wallson, made it all the more special.”
The streaming only track, “Fall In Love” (produced by Asuquo), by ESUA is available now to stream. The film directed by Jade Osiberu and starring Shaffy Bello, Richard Mofe Damijo and Teniola Aladese streams on Prime Video beginning December 20.

Set against the backdrop of Detty December Festivities in Lagos, Fiyin (28), Elo( 30), Ivie (27) and Gbemi (59) navigate friendship, love and loss. Fiyin is in love with her best friend Elo, only Elo announces that he’s proposing to his secret girlfriend.
For Elozonam, this trip marks his return to Lagos for the first time since the tragic passing of his younger sister, his sole sibling, three years ago. Elo is resolute in rekindling the joy in his family’s Christmas traditions, despite years of grief, but his mother remains reluctant to move forward.
Similarly, Gbemi, a 59-year-old woman, is ensnared in a love triangle, torn between her recently divorced high school sweetheart and her two-year-long boyfriend. She confronts her deepest fears about loss and vulnerability.
Ivie, born and raised in London, arrives in Lagos for the holidays with a singular aspiration: to experience the most exhilarating Detty December ever but she finds herself falling for an okada (bike) rider who harbors aspirations of becoming an Afrobeats superstar.
