In Conversation With Ben Lovett, Composer Of ‘Synchronicity’ And ‘The Signal’ | Creative Loafing

‘Synchronicity’ Is Out Now! [iTunes][Vinyl]

Composer Ben Lovett talks to Creative Loafing about coming to terms with calling himself a film score composer, because he feels his career was launched by pure chance.  You may know him from his acclaimed synth score, Synchronicity, which pays homage Blade Runner and consequently to Vangelis; and his previous release also on Lakeshore Records, The Signal.

Well, as luck would have it, his talent shined through, as Ben was just nominated “Discovery Of The Year” for this year’s prestigious World Soundtrack Awards, which previously recognized previous Discovery of the Year nominees such as Alex Heffes, Marc Streitenfeld, Michael Giacchino, and honored the world’s most celebrated composers such as Alexandre Desplat, James Newton Howard, Cliff Martinez, Elmer Bernstein and many more over the past 15 years.

Ben explains his accidentally walking through the right door and leading him into a career as a successful composer: full story at Creative Loafing.
