World Soundtrack Awards 2022: Jonny Greenwood Wins Film Composer of the Year!

Congratulations go to Composer Jonny Greenwood on his Film Composer of the Year win at this year’s World Soundtrack Awards!  The Radiohead guitarist previously received nominations for his scores to There Will Be Blood (2008), The Master (2013), and Phantom Thread (2018).  This award follows an incredible year with his Academy Award® and BAFTA Best Score nominations for The Power of the Dog and Spencer.  Read the full announcement at World Soundtrack Awards online.

BAFTAs 2022: The Power of The Dog Wins Top Awards!

Jane Campion’s critically-acclaimed The Power of the Dog film (Netflix/See-Saw Films) had quite a weekend!  At this year’s BAFTA Awards, the western took the Best Film and Best Director awards!  Featuring powerhouse performances by Benedict Cumberbatch, Kirsten Dunst, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Jesse Plemons, and an incredible score by Jonny Greenwood, The Power of the Dog was also honored with eight nominations in all.  Congratulations to all the winners this year!  See the full list at BAFTA online.

2022 Critics Choice Awards: The Power of the Dog, Yellowjackets and More Take Home Wins!

Congratulations are in order for this year’s Critics Choice Awards! Held on March 13, the awards program saw Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog film (Netflix) take home top film awards: Best Picture, Best Director,  Best Cinematography, and Best Adapted Screenplay! For television, Melanie Lynskey took home the Best Actress in a Drama Series win for the very buzzy Yellowjackets series (Showtime).  Watch her sweet acceptance speech below.

ASCAP Composers’ Choice Awards 2021: Jonny Greenwood, Nainita Desai, Michael Abels and More Nab Nominations!

The ASCAP Composers’ Choice Award 2022 nominations are in!  Congratulations are in order for Jonny Greenwood, whose The Power of the Dog composition is nominated for Film Score of the Year; Nainita Desai, whose 14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible composition is up for Documentary Score of the Year; and Michael Abels, whose Allen v. Farrow composition is also up for Documentary Score of the Year.  Abels’ Allen v. Farrow score is also nominated in the Television Score and Television Theme of the Year categories!
