Lucky fans will get to see an advance screening of Wonderstruck with a live orchestra conducted by Academy Award^®-nominated composer Carter Burwell on Wednesday, October 18 at Cinespia at The Theatre at Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles. This special advanced screening will feature a 38-person orchestra, which will perform the entire score as the film plays.

Wonderstruck Soundtrack: Pre-order Carter Burwell’s Score To This Mesmerizing Film

Lakeshore Records will release the Wonderstruck (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) digitally October 20 and on CD/LP later this year. Simultaneously, a second version of the album, containing three bonus tracks, is also being released as an Amazon Exclusive Special Edition. Both releases feature original music by Carter Burwell (Carol, Fargo).

“The script specifies that Rose’s segment of the film would be silent because her character is deaf, so music was going to play a large role,” said Burwell. “Because of the lack of dialogue and the lack of sound effects in Rose’s section, we presented it as a silent film, with wall-to-wall music. I don’t believe there’s ever a moment where we actually go completely silent. That was a new challenge for me.”

Based on Brian Selznick’s critically acclaimed novel, Ben and Rose are children from two different eras who secretly wish their lives were different.
