RED: The Tom Schutzinger-Scored Film Starring Cate Blanchett in Review | Fine Print Magazine

RED (Original Short Film Soundtrack) - music by Tom Schutzinger on Lakeshore Records

Waves of high energy music fused with intermittent stretches of silence punctuated by mournful wails and muffled battle cries. I stood and imagined distant tunnels and the tiny, helpless creatures lost to them. – Melanie Cooper, Fine Print Magazine

Tom Schutzinger’s powerful score to RED is reviewed in Fine Print Magazine with the electrifying film that is described as a tale of raw, feminine power.  It’s Cate Blanchett like you’ve never seen her before.  Those of us in the States are a bit jealous of all those who were able to catch the short film while it screened at the Art Gallery of South Australia.  We hope the film makes its way to the states soon!

RED: The Tom Schutzinger-Scored Short Film Features Cate Blanchett Like You’ve Never Seen Her Before | Screen Anarchy

RED (Original Short Film Soundtrack) - music by Tom Schutzinger on Lakeshore Records

And while Barton and team supplied fabulous visuals Red also has something of an aural assault thanks to the aggressive score by Tom Schutzinger. – Todd Brown, Screen Anarchy

As noted by Screen Anarchy, two-time Academy Award® Winner Cate Blanchett has her pick of films these days, so the rational reason why she would choose to star in the Del Kathryn Barton short film, RED, is that it’s that good.  Listen to the debut track, “Bed,” from the forthcoming RED (Original Short Film Soundtrack) now at Screen Anarchy, featuring score by former Decoder Ring bandmate, Tom Schutzinger.

The jarring track is just a taste of what you might hope to enjoy from the film, now screening through April 30 at the Art Gallery of South Australia (get info.).

RED: Tom Schutzinger’s Intense Synth Score Debuts on Bandcamp, Live Action Short Film Stars Cate Blanchett

RED (Original Short Film Soundtrack) - music by Tom Schutzinger on Lakeshore Records

Bed is a brilliant and intense composition off the film’s score, a lively synth track which amiably matches the short movie’s darkness and fervency – Destroy/Exist

Lakeshore Records will release the soundtrack to Del Kathryn Barton’s live action short film, RED, starring two-time Academy Award® Winner Cate Blanchett!  The album features score by Tom Schutzinger (Somersault, Jewboy, Yolk, Lucky Country, Caught Inside and The Pack), formerly of the experimental electronic rock band, Decoder Ring.  The film is brought to us by Aquarius Films, responsible for six-time Academy Award®-nominated movie, Lion.

The album is currently available exclusively on Bandcamp, and you can hear the debut track, “Bed,” now exclusively at Destroy/Exist.  See track list below.
