This year, Lakeshore Records has curated a new playlist of select tracks featuring score cues by the world’s top and rising women composers!  You may already know most of these talented individuals who have made a name for themselves in the film, television, and video game music worlds.  You may have missed their latest soundtrack releases.   In commemoration of International Women’s Day 2022, we invite you to take a listen and hopefully end up on a deep dive of discovery through these incredible composers’ discographies as this Spotify playlist is by no means a complete picture of all they have to offer.  What soundtracks have you rediscovered below?

ASCAP Composers’ Choice Awards 2021: Jonny Greenwood, Nainita Desai, Michael Abels and More Nab Nominations!

The ASCAP Composers’ Choice Award 2022 nominations are in!  Congratulations are in order for Jonny Greenwood, whose The Power of the Dog composition is nominated for Film Score of the Year; Nainita Desai, whose 14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible composition is up for Documentary Score of the Year; and Michael Abels, whose Allen v. Farrow composition is also up for Documentary Score of the Year.  Abels’ Allen v. Farrow score is also nominated in the Television Score and Television Theme of the Year categories! Lakeshore Records has released Nainita Desai’s score to 14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible —Soundtrack from the Netflix Film, available now digitally on all major music services globally!  Nainita’s score is nominated for Best Score, Documentary Film at this year’s Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA).  View the album tracklist, listening links, and more below.

World Soundtrack Awards 2021: Daniel Pemberton, Nicholas Britell, Benji Merrison + More Take Home Wins!

The World Soundtrack Awards held its ceremony last weekend and here are the winners: Congratulations goes out to Daniel Pemberton, who was honored with the Composer of the Year Award  for his work on The Trial of the Chicago 7, Enola Holmes, and Rising Phoenix. Also in the winner’s circle this year are Nicholas Britell, who won Best Original Song for “Call me Cruella,” (shared with Florence Welch, Steph Jones, Jordan Powers and Taura Stinson), and Composer Benji Merrison (SAS: Rise of the Black Swan) on his Public Choice Award win!
