Critic’s Choice Documentary Awards: Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie, The Deepest Breath + More Take Home Wins!

Davis Guggenheim’s Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie won big at the  Eighth Annual Critic’s Choice Documentary Awards!  The ceremony, which is an offshoot of the Critic’s Choice Awards (held in January 2024), recognizes the “finest in cinematic and television achievement.”  Lakeshore Records partners won 9 awards across 4 documentaries, which include wins from Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie, The Deepest Breath, Being Mary Tyler Moore, and the upcoming The Last Repair Shop.  The Deepest Breath (Nainita Desai) and The Last Repair Shop (Katya Richardson & Kris Bowers) also received a Best Score nomination in addition to the wins.  View all the wins below.

2023 HMMA Award Nominations Announced: Kris Bowers, John Carney, Gary Clark, John Powell and More Are Honored

The 2023 Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA) nominations have been announced!  Leading the list includes John Carney and Gary Clark’s song, “High Life” with two song nominations!  Performed by Eve Hewson, Orén Kinlan, Jack Reynor, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt from Flora and Son (Apple Original Film), the upbeat song is quite a spotlight.  The soundtrack released by Lakeshore Records is one of a total of 9 nominations this year for the label.  View the full list online at HMMAwards.com.  Congratulations to all nominees this year!

Immortality: Nainita Desai Releases Her Score To Sam Barlow’s Interactive Movie Trilogy!

Fresh off the heels of Nainita Desai’s recent EMMY® nomination, Lakeshore Records has released her latest masterpiece yet: Immortality—Original Soundtrack to the Interactive Trilogy! The game score by two-time Emmy®-nominated composer Nainita Desai (14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible, The Reason I Jump) features a vividly cinematic score which is orchestrated with darkly twisted melodies and crescendos that greatly enhance the interactive movie trilogy. 

The game created by Sam Barlow will be released August 30 by Half Mermaid Productions.  Platforms include Platforms include Xbox Series X|S (Game Pass), Steam PC, iOS and Android via Netflix Games, and GOG.

14 Peaks: EMMY® Nominated Composer Nainita Desai on Making The Film Score

The 8,000 meters club is among the world’s most elite.  Nepali-born mountaineer Nimsdai Purja broke world records when he scaled all 14 peaks above 8,000 meters in just six months.  He pushed the boundaries of the seemingly impossible and demonstrated the possibilities of humanity’s abilities.  Composer Nainita Desai was up for the task of scoring the documentary to this monumental feat and it shows.  Having just received a 2022 EMMY® nomination for Outstanding Music Composition for a Documentary Series, we take this opportunity to shine a light on Nainita’s work behind the scenes.  Watch the video below.
