Have you gone out to see My Entire High School Sinking Into The Sea?  The “Freaks and Geeks-meets-The Poseidon Adventure” hand-drawn animated feature is “delightfully absurd” and “equal parts John Hughes, Wes Anderson and Irwin Allen.” (Los Angeles Times).  After seeing the movie and you find yourself humming along to flashbacks of the award-winning film by Dash Shaw, then thank composer Rani Sharone for his charming score, which you can preview/stream below!

My Entire The High School Sinking Into The Sea Soundtrack: Score By Rani Sharone Debuts on April 14

As soon as the school goes out to sea, the visuals rarely settle for very long on a complete picture of the characters standing in front of a lit background. Instead, there is often a lot of negative space, drawing the eyes to a glow or a silhouette. Combined with Rani Sharone’s intense score, the feel of the movie winds up boosting the narrative.  – Jason Wilson, Under The Radar 

 

Lakeshore Records will release the soundtrack to My Entire High School Sinking Into The Sea, starring Jason Schwartzman, Lena Dunham, Reggie Watts, Maya Rudolph and Susan Sarandon.  The album features score by Rani Sharone, whose credits include additional music on films such as Rock The Casbah and American Ultra.  

Directed by Dash Shaw, the film is an Audience Award nominee at last year’s AFI Fest and Crystal Bear Nominee at this year’s Berlin International Film Festival.  The soundtrack is out April 14 on Lakeshore Records.  More album details below.
