Today, we celebrate Carter Burwell, award-winning composer of film and television scores including Lakeshore Records releases Mr. Holmes, The Fifth Estate, Fur, Burn After Reading, In Bruges, and the forthcoming Anomalisa.
Carter’s score for Mr. Holmes is on Variety’s Best Scores Of 2015 list and his scores for In Bruges and A Serious Man was recently performed by the Loudoun Symphony Orchestra for a tribute concert in his honor as he was presented with the “Distinguished Composer Award” at this year’s Middleburg Film Festival. The album features score by Carter Burwell, known for his work on such films as Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I & II, In Bruges and The Big Lebowski. Variety has just published its first look at potential best score
nominees for this years Academy Awards®. Listed in the Top 10 selects is
Michael Brook’s score to Brooklyn. Other contenders include Trumbo by
Theodore Shapiro and Mr. Holmes by Carter Burwell. Two other scores by
