EXCLUSIVE! Preview The ‘Infinitely Polar Bear’ Soundtrack Ft. Score By Theodore Shapiro, Film Opens June 19

Parenting and mental illness collide in the upcoming dramedy “Infinitely Polar Bear,” a very personal story for the film’s writer/director Maya Forbes, who based it on her own life. And in addition to nabbing two strong actors for the movie, with Mark Ruffalo and Zoe Saldana leading the story about a manic depressive man trying to raise his children and maintain his relationship with his wife, Forbes has also put together a soundtrack to match the moods and emotions conjured in her film. Lakeshore Records will release Infinitely Polar Bear (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) digitally on June 16, featuring score by Theodore Shapiro (Secret Life Of Walter Mitty, Tropic ThunderMarley & Me).  The CD will be available on June 30.  The album also features the song, “The Northern Line” performed by China Forbes of Pink Martini and songs by various artists lovingly curated by Randall Poster, music supervisor on Academy Award®-winning films such as Boyhood and Grand Budapest Hotel.  Preview the album audio now exclusively at IndieWIRE.  Directed by Maya Forbes, Infinitely Polar Bear opens in theaters on Friday, June 19 (check show times).  See below for more soundtrack details.

Lakeshore Records will release the various artists soundtrack to Infinitely Polar Bear, the new film starring Mark Ruffalo (FoxcatcherZodiac) and Zoe Saldana (Guardians of the Galaxy, The Words).  The soundtrack features the score by Composer Theodore Shapiro (Secret Life Of Walter Mitty, Tropic Thunder, Marley & Me) and music by various artists curated by GRAMMY® winner Randall Poster, music supervisor on hit movies such as Academy Award winners Boyhood and Grand Budapest Hotel, and the weekend blockbuster film, Insurgent.

Lakeshore Records Pick Of The Week: ‘Zodiac’ Starring Jake Gyllenhaal

This week’s Lakeshore Records Pick of the Week is Zodiac, a soundtrack which features an eclectic mix of great musicians and groups from periods past: Johnny Coltrane, Donovan, Eric Burdon & The Animals, Isaac Hayes, Johnny Mathis, Marvin Gaye, Miles Davis, The Four Tops, Three Dog Night, Santana, Sly & The Family Stone, and more!  Directed by David Fincher (Se7en), this film (rent it on iTunes) takes its viewers back to the period between 1968-1969, when the infamous killer, “The Zodiac” terrorized the San Francisco Bay Area.

Starring Jake Gyllenhaal (Source CodeDonnie Darko), Mark Ruffalo (Reservation Road) and Robert Downey, Jr. (A Scanner Darkly), The interplay between the three characters: an obsessed cartoonist-amateur detective, newspaper reporter and Police Inspector, respectively, adds to the tension and frustration built by one of the country’s most infamous unsolved murder mysteries.
