Throwback Thursday: Academy Award Nominated ‘Lady Bird’ Film, Score By Jon Brion!

The gliding strings, flowing woodwind, piano tinkles and acoustic strums marry perfectly with Gerwig’s coming-of-age exploration of identity, adulthood and the particular intimacy of mother-daughter relationships. – Noisey

We’re bringing back Lady Bird for this Throwback Thursday, in honor of another coming-of-age film, Booksmart! The film earned five Academy Award® nominations including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress and Best Screenplay. Beanie Feldstein plays the lovable best friend to Saoirse Ronan’s “Lady Bird”, and in Booksmart, she is the best friend and co-star to Kaitlyn Dever (Laggies,Short Term 13). Make it a Beanie Feldstein double feature this weekend!

The film features score by Jon Brion, composer to some of Hollywood’s most memorable and beloved films (The Break-Up, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Punch Drunk Love). Listen to his score below!

Lakeshore Records Congratulates ‘Lady Bird’ Film (A24) On 5 Academy Award Nominations!

Lady Bird, directed by Greta Gerwig, has received five (5) Academy Award® nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director.  Congrats to everyone at Team Lady Bird!  We couldn’t be more proud to be soundtrack partners on this acclaimed production!  This is Lakeshore Records’ third consecutive year releasing the record to an Academy Award®-nominated Best Picture, and all three years with A24 (Room, Moonlight, Lady Bird).  Congratulations to all the nominees this year!

‘Lady Bird’: Love For The Greta Gerwig Movie and Jon Brion Score | Leonard Maltin
