Brooklyn (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) features score by Michael Brook, a Canadian Golden Globe®- and Grammy®-nominated composer of such films as The Fighter and Into The Wild. Michael’s score has been described by Entertainment Weekly as “an elegant arrangement of strings that never goes for the obvious beat.”
There’s something about the sweeping chime of a flute or the quiet beat of a bodhrans that makes me dream. Oh and the violin, forgot about that. Michael Brooke[sic] makes use of that wonderful instrument in the heartfelt opening moments of the score. The music has my attention from the get go because of this quiet and almost mournful tone which almost makes me think of Nick Cave and Warren Ellis’ music. – Soundtrack Dreams

Debuted in 2007, Mad Men is a period drama which takes place in the ’50s and ’60s. Not ones to spend their days sipping Martinis or filing their nails, these actors ventured out of their small-screen bubble. Die-hard Mad Men fans will find it delightful to see Jared Harris in a saucy movie or Christina Hendricks play a less than classy lady.
