History Channel’s ‘Houdini’ Is The Most-Watched Cable Miniseries Of 2014!

The John Debney-scored miniseries Houdini starring Adrien Brody, debuted last night at 3.7 million viewers, as reported by The Wrap, “making it the most-watched cable miniseries premiere so far this year.”   Congratulations to History® and Composer John Debney on an incredible premiere!  If you missed last night’s premiere, you can watch the full episode right now online.  Don’t miss part two of the series airing tonight at 9/8c on History®!

Taking inspiration from both the past and the present, he combines contemporary scoring methods with period instrumentation, producing a sound which is truly one of a kind. Houdini Soundtrack Out Now On Lakeshore Records Score By John Debney

Framed by a death-defying feat that has Houdini’s life flashing before him, Houdini quickly advertises all that will be revealed over the course of four hours (split into two parts). And reveal it does, taking an unorthodox approach that weaves in surreal and psychological elements, zooming camerawork, frenetic editing, a modern soundtrack and some well-placed animation to illustrate how Houdini’s tricks worked. –The Hollywood Reporter

 

Lakeshore Records is pleased to release Houdini (Original Television Soundtrack) Volume 1 and Volume 2 out now.  Original music by Academy Award nominated-John Debney, with additional music by Sebastian Arocha,  the score is “Industrial Rock meets Gypsy rooted mystery, ” says John Debney.  The CD will be available on September 30.  Don’t miss the two-night television event when HOUDINI, starring Adrien Brody and Kristen Connolly premieres on Monday, September 1 at 9/8c on HISTORY®.

‘Houdini’ Score By John Debney On Lakeshore Records, History Channel Miniseries On Labor Day!

Lakeshore Records is pleased to announce the release of Houdini (Original Television Soundtrack), the soundtrack album to the History® television miniseries starring Academy Award-winning actor Adrien Brody.  Houdini airs over two nights beginning September 1.

Houdini Original Score is by Academy Award-nominee John Debney.  The album is available digitally on Tuesday, August 26, and the CD will be available on September 30.
