I’ve never heard Shapiro quite like this… This for me though is his best one yet. What I haven’t mentioned yet is that Trumbo has a very nice theme that can be heard in a few cues, most notably the prison cues… Minimalism, jazz, emotional. It’s all here, setting up this fine drama with some interesting and thought provoking music. – Soundtrack Geek
Lakeshore Records is very pleased to be releasing Trumbo (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) on November 6. The album features score by Theodore Shapiro (St. Vincent, Infinitely Polar Bear, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty). The score was recently named on Variety’s short list of best scores for 2015!
The successful career of 1940s screenwriter Dalton Trumbo (Bryan Cranston) comes to a crushing end when he and other Hollywood figures are blacklisted for their political beliefs. Bleecker Street presents Trumbo, in select theaters on November 6.
