Earth Day can be a time of reflection, education or re-commitment to the world we live in. Lakeshore Records is proud to have partnered with filmmakers and composers on climate change and environmental projects such as through last year’s Before The Flood release in which we, along with composers Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross, Gustavo Santaolalla and Mogwai, helped raise $10k for terrapass, a charity that works to offset carbon emissions.
This year, we are pleased to present National Geographic’s A Symphony For Our World, which premieres tonight. This, and other Earth Day films below feature music by some of the world’s most celebrated musicians and composers.
For Earth Day 2017, we take a look at movies with climate change, environmental impact and social responsibility themes, plus a film which reminds us about the beautify and power of mother nature: Leonardo DiCaprio’s Before The Flood and The 11th Hour, Jennifer Peedom’s award-winning Sherpa documentary, and Frank Hall Green’sbreathtaking Wildlike drama. More details below.
