The End Of The Tour: Brian Eno’s Song Celebrates A Moment In The Life Of David Foster Wallace

Eno and Wallace share a similar affinity for pop that undergoes transmogrification, resulting in art: Eno flensed the hooks and choruses from his pop music so only the music’s essence was left lingering; Wallace took pop culture and exhumed its soul, using his slang-laced prose to dig at deeper, often darker truths. -Greg Cwik, The AV Club

The AV Club recently published an article featuring “The Big Ship,” a Brian Eno song featured in two films this summer, one of which is The End of the Tour.  The Music Supervisor on The End of the Tour is Tiffany Anders (Goodbye World, Smashed, Like Crazy).  The story is a great example of the impact of music in movies and how songs can affect the overall tone of a scene.  Please note there are possible spoilers in the story as the writer dissects the use of Brian Eno’s song in the films.  Read the full story at The AV Club.

The End Of The Tour (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), featuring new original score by four-time Academy Award®-nominee Danny Elfman, is out now via Lakeshore Records.  Read further for more soundtrack details.
