The filmmakers are interviewing both new artists and classic composers who helped to create the genre.  The film is currently in production after a successful Indiegogo campaign. The Rise of The Synths EP 1 - Out May 12 on Lakeshore Records

Lakeshore Records will release two official companion EPs for the upcoming documentary The Rise of The Synths this spring.  THE RISE OF THE SYNTHS EP 1 features tracks from Giorgio Moroder & Raney Shockne, Dance With The Dead, OGRE, Lazerhawk, Mega Drive, Voyag3r, and Carpenter Brut’s “Night Stalker”, which was released earlier this year.  The EP will be released exclusively through Lakeshore Records’ Bandcamp on May 1 and through all digital providers on May 12.

The Rise of The Synths is a documentary film project exploring the synthwave music scene. Lakeshore Records is excited to announce synthwave artists Dance With The Dead will be featured on the forthcoming The Rise of the Synths Companion Album!  Previously, we announced that Code Elektro, Robert Parker, Waveshaper and OGRE will be a part of this compilation album, featuring new and exclusive tracks.  See the duo, comprised of Justin Pointer and Tony Kim, at select performances in March.  Follow Dance With The Dead on Facebook for details.  The Rise Of The Synths Companion Album is slated to be released this spring, so stay tuned for more updates!

We wanted to write a feel good track that really showcased our style of blending guitars with synthesizers.  The synth scene that’s currently happening is great because there’s so many artists showcasing a fresh perspective on influenced sounds from the early days of synthesizers. – Dance With The Dead
