Lakeshore Records sat down with composer Bobby Johnston to talk about his experience scoring the David Mamet film, Edmond, directed by Stuart Gordon and stars William H. Macy, Mena Suvari, Denise Richards, Bokeem Woodbine and Julia Stiles (buy the DVD here). The album features score by Bobby Johnston (Wristcutters: A Love Story, Edmond, King Of Ants, No Impact Man). Johnston has been called “a new voice in film” by Film Score Monthly and his score for King Of Ants earned him critical praise in film music circles. Now On Demand: Watch The Critically Acclaimed ‘Wristcutters: A Love Story’

Here’s a must-watch indie film for music lovers: Wristcutters: A Love Story is now On Demand (watch it on HBO Go). The dark comedy, starring Patrick Fugit, Shea Whigham, Shannyn Sossamon and Tom Waits is available through June 30, so don’t miss it. The soundtrack released by Lakeshore Records features tracks from Joy Division, Gogol Bordello, Mikal Lasarev, Del Shannon, Screaming Lord Sutch and a score by Composer Bobby Johnston (No Impact Man). Wristcutters was an indie film festival favorite and received a nomination for the Grand Jury Award at the Sundance Film Festival (2006).

The very music-centric cast (besides musician Tom Waits, Patrick Fugit played a rock journalist in “Almost Famous” and Shannyn Sossamon is a DJ-turned-actor) rounds out this endearing love story set in the afterlife.
