Moonlight picked up three Academy Awards® last year: Best Picture (Barry Jenkins), Best Actor (Mahershala Ali) and Best Adapted Screenplay (Barry Jenkins, Tarell Alvin McCraney).  The film received an additional five Oscar nominations including Best Original Score (Nicholas Britell). 

 

 

I Am Not Your Negro received an Academy Award® and BAFTA nomination for Best Documentary last year (among numerous other nominations and wins) and composer Alexei Aigu received the Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Score at the Cinema Eye Honors Awards last year.
