Review: Mica Levi’s ‘Monos’ Score To ‘One Of The Best Films of 2019’, Says Slash Film

Now playing in US theaters is Alejandro Landes’ critically-acclaimed Monos film!  Described as a ” Colombian ‘Lord of the Flies'” (IndieWire), the Latin American film festival darling and Sundance Special Jury Prize winner will represent Colombia in the International Feature Film category for next year’s Academy Awards®!  Check out the new review of Monos now at Slash Film, where critic Kalyn Corrigan heralds the movie as “one of the best films of 2019” and “not to be missed”.

In the latest review of Mica Levi’s highly-anticipated score to Monos. Pitchfork compares it to her critically-acclaimed and memorable debut score to Under The Skin. If you haven’t had a chance to listen to the “growing unhinged” Monos score (which, by the way is a hint of what to expect in the film), it’s out now digitally from Invada Records and Lakeshore Records.  The album is alsco coming to vinyl (see pre-order link below), arriving in stores on Friday, September 13, the same day of the US theatrical release of the film.  See the full review now at Pitchfork!

Ahead of the US theatrical premiere of Sundance Winner Monos, the soundtrack featuring Mica Levi’s highly-anticipated score is now available digitally worldwide on Invada Records and Lakeshore Records! 

Directed by Alejandro Landes and starring Moises Arias and Julianne Nicholson, Monos, which has been described by IndieWire as the “Colombian Lord of the Flies”, opens in US theaters on Friday, September 13.  See album links and more below.

Interview: Mica Levi and The Texture of ‘Monos’ | The Film Stage

Colombian filmmaker Alejandro Landes’ new work Monos is the latest to receive the composer’s Midas touch, opening to raves in Sundance in January and, just last week, at the 69th Berlinale. – Rory O’Connor, The Film Stage
