Congratulations goes out to Mica Levi, who received this year’s The Ivors Best Original Score nomination for Monos, as reported by Crack Magazine!  Mica’s best score nomination is in good company with  Nainita Desai (For Sama) and Bobby Krlic (Midsommar).  See the full list of nominations in all categories at The Ivors online.

Monos: Spotlight On Academy Award Nominee Mica Levi | Variety

Levi contributed a spare and atmospheric score to “Monos,” director Alejandro Landes’ modern-day “Lord of the Flies” set among teenage soldiers holding an American doctor hostage in a South American jungle. – Variety

Awards season is upon us and all eyes are on the year’s most acclaimed films, including scores that eschew the conventions of tradiional film scoring.  Case in point: Monos composer Mica Levi is featured in this Variety spotlight on the year’s most provocative and “offbeat” scores: “Inspired by the actors using their mouths and hands to make whistling sounds, she did her own whistling and augmented it with synths and timpani.”  Read the full feature now at Variety.

Lakeshore Records congratulates our partners at team Monos (NEON) on their Best Film Award win at this year’s London Film Festival! The winners list was announced Saturday — see the list at The Hollywood Reporter.
