The Cobbler: Score By John Debney And Nick Urata Out Now, Adam Sandler Film Opens In Theaters And On Demand On 3/13!

Acclaimed Composers John Debney And Nick Urata Team Up To Score Comedy/Fantasy Film The Cobbler Starring Adam Sandler — Now Available On iTunes

[Nick] Urata returns with ‘Pop’s Soles’ which is another minimalistic piece of music, very heartfelt and real. These little tidbits by Urata are my favourite pieces of the score. –Soundtrack Geek

“The Cobbler” allows for a seamless meeting of the multiple identity minds between Debney and Urata for “Win Win” filmmaker Tom McCarthy, here with a score that has the delicious ethnic swing that encapsulates both “The Cobbler’s” Hebraic background and 20s jazz swing.  -Daniel Schweiger, Film Music Magazine

Lakeshore Records is pleased to release the soundtrack to The Cobbler, featuring the score by Academy Award nominee John Debney (Stonehearst AsylumHoudiniDraft Day, Passion of the Christ) and Nick Urata, frontman of the internationally acclaimed band DeVotchKa, who has scored such films as the Academy Award winning film Little Miss Sunshine, co-scored the hit romantic comedy Crazy, Stupid Love (starring Steve Carell and Ryan Gosling) and Jack Goes Boating (which stars The Cobbler director Thomas McCarthy and Philip Seymour Hoffman).  The film opens Friday, March 13 On Demand (pre-order on iTunes) and in theaters (check show times)!

Mark Adler’s Score For Merchants Of Doubt Is Out Now, Join The Film Q&A With Director Robert Kenner In New York, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Vancouver, Toronto, Boston And More!

Solid reporting ties together battles over seemingly unconnected perils like cigarettes and flame-retardant chemicals. Snazzy graphics and music—and appealing interview subjects—move things along, and a kick-in-the-gut plot twist suggests how climate change actually benefited oil companies.

Kenner’s film exposes a devoted and long-lived cadre of scientists (and their philosophical descendants) who established their careers during the A-bomb era and the Cold War’s Big Science rivalries. Anti-communist ideologues, well-trained and often brilliant scientists such as physicists S. Fred Singer and the late Frederick Seitz saw (and see) corporate regulation as a pathway to socialism, an endgame more fearsome than any secondhand smoke or patchy ozone. [NewsWeek]

Hear “Metaphorical Blanket” By Rufus Wainwright – Any Day Now Soundtrack:

Depictions of custody battles have become a cinematic staple, but few register with the heartfelt emotion of Any Day Now. This 1970s Los Angeles-set drama about a gay couple fighting to adopt a Down syndrome-afflicted teenager is only loosely inspired by a real story, but the smart screenplay by director Travis Fine and George Arthur Bloom has the ring of truth. And the issues raised by this film receiving its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival remain all too sadly relevant. –The Hollywood Reporter
