This week, we celebrate Kathryn Bostic and her score to Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am!  Kathryn had quite the year in 2019: her song, “High Above The Water” was Oscar shortlisted for Best Song; she won Outstanding Original Score For An Independent Film at the Society of Composers & Lyricists ceremony, and she holds the distinction of being the first African American female score composer to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences in 2019!

Belgravia: John Lunn Is Back To Score Stories Of The Upper Echelons of British Society

If you’ve ever burrned hours bingewatching all seasons of Downton Abbey on Prime Video, teared up just a bit when you heard about the movie, and then finding yourself looking for the music on Apple Music or Spotify, then you should be familiar with Composer John Lunn’s work!  The two-time EMMY® Winner has a lot of fans in the international film music circles; his other compositions for productions such as Little Dorrit (starrring Claire Foy), The White Queen (starring Rebecca Ferguson), and the classic Bleak House (2005), is a study in British excellence.

Go Behind The Scenes With David Martijn, Composer Of ‘War Of The Worlds’ On EPIX

War Of The Worlds, an EPIX Original Series premiered in the US on February 16, 2020, following the European world premiere in late October 2019, leading up to Halloween.  And now, fans of the series based on the classic H.G. Wells story will be delighted to hear the series score by David Martijn (of award-winning Belgian electro rockband GOOSE) will see a summer release!

Broadway Records will host a virtual Listening Party on Tuesday, July 14th at 7p.m. EDT, with the one-of-a-kind GRAMMY® and Tony Award® nominee Tim Minchin. As composer of the Matilda The Musical Original Broadway Cast Album, Minchin will be sitting down with Broadway Records’ A&R Director and beloved cabaret talent Robbie Rozelle to listen to and talk about fan-favorite tracks from the show. Viewers can tune in on Broadway Records’ Facebook page or YouTube channel to ask questions during the event.  The listening party will take place on July 14th at 7pm, EDT.
