Fight or Flight—Original Motion Picture Soundtrack features original music by Paul Saunderson (“Trying”, “BBC Earth”). The score delivers intense, darkly driven strings, crashing guitars and taut synth beats that underscore the action thriller vibes.  We’re thrilled to share the track, “Fight or Flight” from the album, below.

Notes Saunderson: “Composing the score to Fight or Flight, we knew there was a lot of fun to be had, it never takes itself too seriously. I combined gnarly electric guitar riffs and effects with hyped-up synths and percussion, supported by a large bottom-heavy string orchestra to support the intense action sequences in the film. For some of the fight sequences we took more of a ‘Rocky Track’ style approach to keep the mood fun but also maintain the intensity rather than going for straight conventional action, which also played very much into Josh Hartnett’s character Lucas Reyes.”

Action-comedy Fight or Flight is directed by James Madigan, stars Josh Hartnett, and is currently available on Sky Cinema in the UK.  The film will be released by Vertical in U.S. theaters nationwide beginning May 9th.

ABOUT PAUL SAUNDERSON
Paul Saunderson is a vastly experienced British composer with over 80 credits in Film & TV, including RAW’s BAFTA nominated and ACADEMY AWARD shortlisted feature “Three Identical Strangers” Left Banks long running action TV show ‘Strike Back’ and Apple Tv’s hit comedy series “Trying.”

Coming from a both a classical and band background, Paul has demonstrated the ability to score Films and TV shows covering a diverse range of genres. His unique tone to Paul’s scores is underpinned by his innovative approach to musical sound design, complementing his skills as a multi-instrumentalist, performing and recording on the majority of his scores from his South London studio. This was highlighted in 2019 with Paul releasing his debut album “Passage” on Decca imprint 1631 Recordings.

Paul has also written arrangements for a variety of recording artists including Coldplay, Kasabian, The Cinematic Orchestra, and Guy Garvey of ELBOW. The collaboration with Guy has led to a fruitful partnership resulting in the recent scoring of Apple TV’s “Trying” and Mike Bartlett’s acclaimed 2020 BBC series “Life.”
Paul has recently completed work on Balloon Entertainment’s musical drama CHAMPION coming to BBC ONE and NETFLIX this July as well as a brand-new BBC STUDIOS landmark documentary series called EARTH that tells the 4.5-billion-year story of our Earth spread across 5 episodes.

Fight or Flight follows exiled American agent Lucas Reyes (Josh Harnett) who is given one last chance to redeem himself – the assignment is to track down and identify a mysterious, international high-value asset known only as The Ghost on a flight from Bangkok to San Francisco. Complicating matters, the plane is filled with assassins from around the world who are assigned to kill them both. The pair must work together in a fight for their lives. At 37,000 feet, the stakes have never been higher.
