Tobe Nwigwe is an enigma. The lyrics and tone of his music tell the story of a difficult upbringing as a first-generation-Nigerian kid in the Alief neighborhood of Houston, TX. Difficult, however, is not impossible. Tobe took the hand he was dealt, and as his name implies, played it to a royal flush. Tobe has a singular goal in life: “to make purpose popular” and, he is already well on his way to doing so. Through tremendous consistency and execution, Tobe’s music and influence have infiltrated pop culture garnering the attention, accolades, friendship, fandom and support of entertainment icons across the globe including Erykah Badu, Dave Chappelle, Beyoncé, First Lady Michelle Obama, P. Diddy, Demi Lovato, Swizz Beatz, Alicia Keys, Madonna, Justin Timberlake, and Steve Harvey.

With two multi-city sold-out tours, a groundbreaking performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk, anchoring playlists curated by First Lady Michelle Obama and Beyoncé, respectively, being featured on Next Gen gaming platforms Madden, MLB The Show and NBA2K, universally lauded late-night television performances, a host of festivals, concerts, blogs, and fashion magazine features and in 2022, Tobe will make his silver screen debut joining the cast of the beloved saga, “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts”, it’s abundantly clear that Tobechukwu Dubem Nwigwe has redrawn the lines for what “visionary” and “creative genius” are for the 21st century and beyond. And, this is only the beginning.
