PREMIERE! Aqka Torr Previews His New ‘Bassaigu’ Album (Out March 15)

As promised, we have more details on the forthcoming Bassaigu album by Aqka Torr, the new moniker of recording artist, film music composer and mastering engineer Frank Riggio! His recent EP, Taquin, was released on Lakeshore Records. His follow up full-length album under this vocals and synth project will be released digitally worldwide on March 15 via Lakeshore. See our previous announcement here, for more about this project.

Listen to a preview of the album below (video premieres March 8 at 11 AM).

“I wanted to change my style up a bit and head in a direction that is more accessible, with catchy vocals and synth lead music as Aqka Torr. I mainly produced these tracks using analog and modular synths, both hardware and software. The idea was to have a bassy textured hip-hop, pop and psychedelic music influenced album. Utilizing delicate distortions and raw percussions, I wanted varied tracks throughout, yet maintain coherence as a whole.”

Listen to TAQUIN:

Frank Riggio has released five studio albums, including Raze – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, three EPs and officially remixed artists like Amon Tobin (for Ninja Tune) and HECQ (aka Ben Lukas Boysen).  Stay tuned for more album news this week!
