Colossal (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack): get it here

Anne Hathaway and Jason Sudeikis star in this genre-bending psychological kaiju film.  Directed by The ABC’s of Death’s Nacho Vigalondo, the film promises a twist or two along the way.  Score by 10 Cloverfield Lane, “The Walking Dead” and “Battlestar Galactica” composer Bear McCreary.

Gifted (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack): get it here

Bring the tissues.  Chris Evans (Captain America: Civil War) stars in his best role yet as a single man who raises his sister’s daughter, who happens to be gifted.  Score by The Age of Adaline, Foxcatcher, and The Spectacular Now’s Rob Simonsen.

RED (Original Short Film Soundtrack) – Bandcamp Exclusive: get it here

Tom Schutzinger’s brutal synth score to RED is only part of the story.  Two-time Academy Award^® Winner Cate Blanchett has her pick of movies, so when she chose to star in RED, directed by Del Kathryn Barton, it must be good.  “A surreal savage tale of female power,” (ABC Australia), Blanchett re-enacts the deadly mating ritual of the Australian redback spider.

Ben Lovett’s Vangelis-inspired analog synth score is now released for the first time on cassette through our friends and partners at Megatapes.  The soundtrack to Jacob Gentry’s mind-bending sci-fi thriller in the tradition of Dark City and Blade Runner is one of our favorite releases of 2016!

Vampire Death Dealer Selene (Kate Beckinsale) fends off brutal attacks from both the Lycan clan and the Vampire faction that betrayed her. Walking With The Enemy: buy DVD

The Walking With The Enemy DVD release was worth the wait.  Based on a true story, Walking With The Enemy is an epic film of love, courage and sacrifice.  Doing the final months of World Wra II in Hungary, a young man sets out to find his displaced family by using a Nazi uniform to pose as an officer.  On a journey filled with suspense and danger, he undertakes extraordinary measures to save his family and thousands of lives from the enemy.  Stars Jonas Armstrong, Sir Ben Kingsley, Hannah Tointon, Simon Kunz and Simon Dutton.  Score by Timothy Williams.

Good Kill: stream on Netflix

From the producers of The Hurt Locker comes a riveting thriller about 21st-century warfare, where combat unfolds like a video game, but with real lives at stake.  Veteran Air Force pilot Tom Egan (Ethan Hawke) yearns to get back into the cockpit of a plane, but now he launches drone strikes from an air-conditioned box in the Las Vegas desert.  When he starts taking orders directly from the CIA, the stakes are raised and Egan’s nerves–and his relationship with his wife (January Jones) — begins to unravel.  Score by Christophe Beck.

The Midnight Meat Train – stream on Netflix

When Leon Kaufman’s (Bradley Cooper) latest body of work — a collection of provocative, nighttime studies of the city and its inhabitants — earns the struggling photographer interest from prominent art galleries Susan Hoff (Brooke Shields), she propels him to get grittier and show the dark side of humanity for his upcoming debut at her downtown art space.  Believing he’s finally on track for success, Leon’s obsessive pursuit of dark subject matter leads him into the path of a serial killer, Mahogany (Vinnie Jones), the subway murderer who stalks late-night commuters.  Score by Robert Williamson & Johannes Kobilke.

The D Train – Stream on Netflix

Jack Black and James Marsden team up for this high school reunion comedy.  Brought to you by the comedic geniuses behind Nacho Libre and Wayne’s World, and co-starring Kathryn Hahn and Jeffrey Tambor, The D Train is the ultimate bromance gone wrong.  Score by Andrew Dost of the band Fun.  Andy McCluskey (of OMD), Rob Kroehler (of Ladylike), Jack Antonoff (of Fun.) and Andrew Dost (of Fun.) form a temporary supergroup for the track, “A Million Stars.”
