Acclaimed Doc ‘Cartel Land’ Qualifies For Academy Award Nominations

Cartel Land, director Matthew Heineman’s Sundance Award®-winning documentary has qualified for Academy Award® nominations! Since its theatrical release this summer, Heineman and the documentary have garnered multitudes of accolades, including IMDB’s #1 film indie film release for July and Indiewire’s  Best Reviewed Indie Film of 2015 list!.  Cartel Land (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is out now on Lakeshore Records.  The album features score by H. Scott Salinas (Zipper) and Jackson Greenberg, who created original music from instrumentation of the regions and incorporated authentic field recordings.

Overall, 124 films were announced on the qualifying list. The 88th Annual Academy Awards® will be broadcast on ABC February 28, 2016. Nominations will be announced six weeks before that, on January 14, 2016. – NonFictionFilm.com
