Broken Horses: Score By Academy Award Nominee John Debney Out Now, Film Directed By Vidhu Vinod Chopra Opens 4/10

John Debney’s Score For ‘Broken Horses’ Offers A Glimpse Of The Drama To Come

Here’s the official synopsis: Set in the shadows of the US-Mexico border gang wars, Broken Horses is an epic thriller about the bonds of brotherhood, the laws of loyalty and the futility of violence.

Debney’s orchestral work seems to follow the peaks and valleys of the story, while also capturing the distinct flavor of the modern setting and the musical influences found there. –Indiewire

Having left town as a child after the death of his father, a young music prodigy, Jacob Heckum (Anton Yelchin) returns to his desolate hometown after years only to discover that Buddy (Chris Marquette), the child-like elder brother he left behind, now works for a notorious drug gang. The gang’s ruthless boss has twisted Buddy’s simple mind and manipulated him into a killer…a surrogate son who blindly does as he is told. Jacob is unable to convince Buddy to leave his new fraternity. Drowned in guilt for having abandoned him, Jacob realizes the only way to save Buddy is from the inside out.

Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the film stars Maria Valverde, Vincent D’Onofrio, Thomas Jane (White Bird In A Blizzard, Reach Me), Anton Yelchin (Rudderless), Sean Patrick Flanery and Chris Marquette (see full cast list on IMDB). Broken Horses opens in theaters on Friday, April 10 (check show times).
