Many have missed Sontag’s dissenting voice since her death in 2004. The frequency with which she visited topics like pain, human rights, war and violence suggest she’d have much to contribute to the conversations that whirl around us today and every day. Regarding Susan Sontag, the new documentary directed by Sundance and Tribeca Film Festival award winner Nancy Kates (Brother Outsider: The Life of Bayard Rustin), airs tonight at 9 p.m. on HBO (check local listings). Lakeshore Records will release the soundtrack, featuring the score by Emmy-winning composer Laura Karpman and Nora Kroll-Rosenbaum, coming soon to iTunes.
